ABWALK

Pretoria based duo formed by to music heads, Lebogang 'Lebzito' Nkwana and Frans 'Frana' Mogale. The two, also known as SOLDIERS OF HOUSE met in 2002 through local township mutual friends that had a common sense of music. Like most DJ/Producer, they both started at a young age as Backroom DJ's and beat makers before they got exposed to the real club scenes. They worked as individuals while they acquired knowledge on sound, as well as the business side of the music industry and music production. In 2005 they put together their solo projects into a 12 Track compilation that they distributed among peers and local house music consumers in return for a feedback on their musical experiences & experiments and the name "Soldiers of House" was eventually suggested. They received positive feedback for the compilation which kind of steered the duo in the right direction within the harsh music industry.

They had a go at Jazzanova's "Lie" remix competition in 2009 which was hosted by an online Magazine [Music Industry Online] where they firmly grabbed second place and their remix being Jazzanova's favourite, they saw the remix being released on Jazzanova's "Up Side Down" Album early 2012 under the label Sonar Kollektive.

Late 2009 they duo got together in studio for their first ever song together titled "She's A Horse" which was aired on one of then the biggest house music show in South Africa hosted by DJ's At Work and was very well received by the masses on the underground scene. The track and a few other tracks were featured in their digital Album (Personal) which was released November 2010 on all major online stores. That has seen the duo being mentored by the industry's music giants both local and international with the aim to grow in the industry and musically and their growth can be noticed on every piece of music they produce recently. They have worked on numerous remixes and other music projects with different musicians in this wide spectrum of music genres and they have performed in most clubs and entertainment venues across South Africa.

The duo's music has been featured in compilations from Peng Afrika, House Afrika, Soul Candi, Next Dimension, Rinse FM, Melt 2000 to name but a few. They have singles and remixes on different labels such as Foliage Records/ Sub Sensual, Peng, Jack 2 Jazz, Deeptone Recordings, 0152 Records, and Antidote Music.

They have recently founded a new label (ABwalk Music) with the aim to give music loving people the best underground music they will appreciate and with the label's first release being their new work with pop star Letang Tlome titled Honey released July 2018.
