Opulence, the brand new label ran by Cali Lanauze and it's he that comes up with this package, alongside Jonny Cruz with a brace of brilliant new tracks that come with remixes from the legendary Roman Flugel and contemporary tastemaker Moscoman.
Cali & Jonny have released together to great effect, most recently back in April with a killer EP. They have a fresh take on minimal and tech house that works on the dance floor but that also brims with character. Once again they prove that here.
Flyg opens up with a killer bassline that's tight and funky. Crisp hi hats dance up top and squelchy synths flesh things out. It's one to get the crowd going and does so with real style.
German pioneer and long time talent Roman Flugel remixes it into a freaky track with shimmering drums, his usual sense of freakiness and plenty of inventive synth sounds that really get under your skin.
May The Wind Always Be At Your Back then ups the ante with slick tech vibes underpinned by corrugated bass. It's a warm, atmospheric tune to make you dance.
Disco Halal boss Moscoman then reworks it into seven melodic minutes of cosmic deep and macho disco. His colourful keys bring real joy to the catchy groove and provide a sense of optimism to this most interesting of EPs.
