Back in 2021, Baltimore House legend Teddy Douglas paid homage to his musical heroes, Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, with his highly acclaimed album of reworks and remixes titled, 'Baltimore Philadelphia International'. Now he's back with another passion project, 'Tribute To Q'!

Teddy and his musical friends have lovingly recrafted 4 Quincy Jones classics – 'Burning Up', 'Bedtime Story', 'Ai No Corida' and 'Betcha Wouldn't Hurt Me', on a stunning EP of tastefully re-imagined songs written by Teddy's idol. Propelling these masterpieces on to today's dance floors with a feast of Disco, Soul, Latin and Soulful House grooves, 'Tribute To Q' is a fantastic homage to one of the true musical masters.

"This is a musical celebration for the man himself, Quincy Jones!!" – Teddy Douglas

Featuring a plethora of talent on the EP, Teddy has worked with some top class musicians and vocalists on the project including; Irvin Madden (bass); Sharon Adams, Navasha Daya, Martin Wilson and Will Jones (vocals); Ollie Wright and Hozay Clowney (keys); Bennie Cowan (Trumpet); Davon McCoy and Victor Williams (Percussion); and Teddy himself on Drums, giving a vibrant live feel to all the tracks.

Teddy Douglas has produced everyone from Michael Jackson, Lenny Kravitz, Crystal Waters, Erykah Badu, Martha Wash and Ultra Nate' and was an important figure in the development of the Baltimore "House" Sound. In 1985 he met Jay Steinhour and Thommy Davis who later went on to form The Basement Boys production company. The Basement Boys have produced countless dance classics like the 1991 Gold single, 'Gypsy Woman' … Fast forward, and 30 years later Teddy is still rocking dance floors with his uplifting DJ sets and producing some of the finest soulful house music around.
