Smanga Ngubane a South African NEO SOUL singer songwriter better known to the world as S.DAVIES, born in a small township called Kwa-Mashu in Durban, his father was from Mpondo tribe and his Mother was originally Zulu. At a tender age of 8 he could already compose soulful melodies that would amaze his cousins, friends and people around him cause he left them in disbelief that they were his own creation.
IN 1998 he relocated to JOHANNESBURG and joined a youth club (AMAJIKA) where he could express his gift better while polishing his craft. With the group he got a chance to tour the world and shared the stage with Grammy award winner Whitney Houston, and the rapper Common in Italy Rome. When not touring the world he would meet up musicians do sessions as source of income while being polished by the legendary Bheki Mseleku.
He then later met Big Boy Mkhize a producer who worked for an international recording label from L.A called Creative kingdom Records .His first album (SOUL CONNECTION) got a nomination for SAMA award for best Male Vocalist and two nominations for the METRO FM AWARDS in best Male Vocalist and Best RnB albums categories. He has also performed at some of the biggest profound events in Africa, such as young gifted and black an initiative made by Sony music, joy of jazz, The Cape Town international jazz festival and has also toured to Mexico and Benin to promote the 2010 South African World Cup.
