A rising star on the South African scene, this up and coming dance producer truly buzzes electric. Flowing, mellow house being a more accurate description. His debut Dopewax single "Heaven" with Honey Molasses was released last year to much delight and he's been busy at work doing radio mixsets, remixing for Tortured Soul, with his latest remix being that of MDW and Raul Soto's "Freedom House." We're talking about Cornelius SA and his latest Boogie Woogie EP on Dopewax. We're talking non-invasive deep rhythmic music. Heady deep. The kind that starts off real slow and floaty, gently trickling in like the calm tropical waves in the Carribean to set a mood, before the rhythms, basslines and melodies come in to pick up the pace and gettin' you groovin'. "Boogie Woogie" goes a bit funky, "Empty Space" is moody and dreamy, "Impulse" is perfectly groovy, and "Marbles" bring back a bit of the funkiness. Make no mistake, these aren't full-fledged downtempo lounge tunes, nor are they full-on house tracks but a sweet balance between the two; chilled out with just a little kick. This new 4-track instrumental EP is as cucumber cool as the man who created them. All done in the most modest, unobtrusive way. Straight up vibes.
