FILTHY LUCRE

Melbourne production team Filthy Lucre was founded by DJ Gavin Campbell in 1989, as the in-house production team for his seminal Australian dance label Razor Records, named after Campbell’s iconic Melbourne nightclub Razor.
Filthy Lucre consisted of Robert Goodge (songwriter/guitarist from legendary Australian band I’m Talking) and fellow Razor DJ Paul Main.
Filthy Lucre gained immediate notoriety worldwide with their first production, the ground-breaking, Balaeric funk jam ‘Treaty’ by Yothu Yindi, which was the first Australian dance track to garner international success.
Treaty peaked at #6 on the U.S. Billboard dance chart in 1991, and was followed up with remixes for much loved Australian acts Hunters & Collectors, The Reels and John Paul Young with U.S. disco royalty Claudia Barry soon to follow.
Fast forward to 2020, Filthy Lucre continues to produce music and tour with Yothu Yindi & The Treaty Project, having expanded the original line-up to include award winning multi-instrumentalist/producer Ania Reynolds andDJ/musician/producer Nick Coleman, who’s beloved 2012 track ‘Faces Of Meth’ remains a beloved global banger. Goodge and Campbell’s most recent production is the Filthy Lucre remix of Goodge’s 1985 classic I'm Talking song ‘Holy Word'.
