MARIO MARQUES

With a career span of over 3 decades in the music industry, Lisbon native Mario Marques has been early inspired by the sounds of Disco,
Funk, R&B, Soul and Afro/Latin rhythms, which are the main ingredients of the music produced and played by him.

Prior to becoming a freelancer artist, Mario started paving his way on the Portuguese Dance scene in the year of 1989,
where he held residencies at prestigious venues such as: Plateau, Kings & Queens and Locomia.

In 1997, he's invited by friend and mentor Frankie Knuckles to join the legendary Def Mix crew in NYC.
Mario would remain in the USA for nearly 10 years, learning and developing his craft.

Ever since, Mario Marques has played the world over, from South Africa to Ibiza (where he holds a residency at the Supa Disco Party)
and shared the limelight with some of his most respected peers like: Erick Morillo, David Morales, Timmy Regisford, Tony Humphries
and Louie Vega to name but a few.

In 2013, Mario founded the Afrisoul Records imprint, which has since become a regular outlet for his music and many other talented producers worldwide.

A self taught producer, musician and songwriter, Mario has worked and collaborated with artists such as: Mi Casa, Anduze, Michelle Weeks, CT Martin,
Nicole Mitchell, Latasha Jordan, Kim Beacham and Jazmina.
