Fifty years ago Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin made their historic journey to the moon. Today, when most people's smart phones have seven million times more computing power than the Apollo Guidance Computer (AGC), there is a resurgence of interest in space and space exploration. Where will humans go in the future?

Many people are convinced that Mars will be the destination for our next great space adventure, while some think a permanently manned lunar base is the next logical step. Others, however, wonder whether life forms from more distant planets may visit us one day, and some even claim they already have and allege that secret space programs have existed here on earth for decades. What is certain is that space continues to fascinate humanity.

The Centillions draw from some of their terrestrial musical influences: Reggae, Hip Hop and Techno (to name a few) and combine them with seemingly other worldly textures for their second release on Blackout '77 Recordings: 'Deep Space'.

The prolific DJ Jazz T features on the track, scratching a phrase that invites us to, '. open our minds and listen and dance and sing to everything we hear on this trip'. His intricate cuts meld perfectly with the detailed soundscape. The experimental production is also accompanied by mesmeric visuals courtesy of Ben Mason (Red Dog) which makes the jouney almost tangible. All the elements come together to make 'Deep Space' a fitting soundtrack for our times and humanity's renewed spirit of exploration.
