This release comes from a new Simplistic artist, the Bay Area's own Ray-D. Steeply rooted with hiphop flavor, this album flows dreamily between jazzy brass and lofi beats, layering in brilliant samples and just the right amount of stank. We are rolling up the windows in the whip and hotboxing the whole HQ crew to this one.

'90s was my era, so I draw inspiration from producers like Pete Rock, DJ Shadow, DJ Krush, DJ Cam, DJ Premier, and Large Professor. I'd been playing music for a long time but these guys really inspired me to want to make music. Losing a close friend, a true head to me, was a pivotal moment in my life that led me to find an outlet to express my emotions. It's difficult to describe my creative process; when I produce it just. happens. I pour a lot of soul into my work. I'm drawn to smooth grooves, something you can open up the sunroof and vibe out to. I want the listener to feel the passion in my music.' - Ray-D
