First featured on our 20 Years of MoreHouse Records Vol 2 compilation - 'Lovin' You' is a reimagined Soulful House cover of the legendary Minnie Riperton's classic 70's hit. The song exposes the pure and heartfelt artistry of B. Valentine and showcases her range as a vocalist. Minnie's original version always struck a chord with Valentine. In her mind, it's the ultimate love song - a celebration of love, her love of this timeless hit, the love she celebrates with her husband, and her love for Minnie Riperton, who paved the way for other female singer-songwriters.

To offer some background on the project - on October 3, 2022, she and her husband (producer / musician) Eric Valentine released a stunning version of 'Lovin' You' which featured nine-time GRAMMY nominee Dave Koz on saxophone. It was the number one most added smooth jazz song on Billboard that week and was released onto all digital download and streaming platforms shortly thereafter. The idea to re-cut the vocals to a House tempo and produce a completely different version came to fruition later that Fall when Valentine reached out to Groove Junkies Evan Landes. The two had previously teamed on her 2012 MoreHouse dance hit 'Born To Flow' (over 2 million streams to date on Spotify), where she performed under her previous stage name Baskerville Jones. Their current collaboration on this tight new treatment of 'Lovin' You includes stellar mixes from Groove Junkies and Munk Julious from Deep Soul Syndicate with additional keys provided from Ezel Feliz and Grammy nominated Shawn Hibbler.

While 'Lovin' You' is B. Valentine's first release under her current stage name, she is no stranger to the music scene. Fans may recognize her as the frontwoman of the soul, jazz, and funk fusion band The Rebirth. Her group and solo performances at venues/events have included: Southport Weekender (UK), Dave Koz Cruises, Capital Jazz Festival (Maryland), Microsoft Theater (LA), Ford Theater (Hollywood), Winter Music Conference (Miami), and Hippodrome Casino (London) to name a few.

During her 20 year career she has performed or recorded with a host of national and international artists including Dave Koz, Kenny Lattimore, BeBe Winans, Deniece Williams, Valerie Simpson, Heather Headley and many others. We are honored and thrilled to welcome back B. Valentine to the MoreHouse family!
