Nomumbah is a trio steep in Brazilian tradition, yet there is nothing traditional about them. The group's bridging of jazzy elements, broken rhythms, latin overtones and deep house while still capturing the essence of Brazil's cultural beauty, has enabled them to do what very few Brazilian musicians have accomplished with electronic music.

Mostly known for their rework of Lo Borges' 'Tudo Que Voce Podia Ser', which appeared on the 'Ibara: River Crossing' and 'Yoruba Records: Cinco Anos' compilation, the group has received critical acclaim from the likes of Jazzanova amongst others. Hailing from Sao Paulo, the group was conceived by experiment musicians: Ale Reis, André Torquato and Rafael Moraes and together they present their debut album on Yoruba Records 'Love Moves'.

The album starts with a very smooth tech-tinged number called 'Outono' (Autumn in Portuguese). Right from the bat, the song gives you the elegant feel of the album. Its deepness and warm, yet synthy feel gives us the perfect start to 'Love Moves'.

'Ela' is one that shouldn't surprise you to if you catch it on discerning dance floors worldwide. This wonderfully cooked slice of deep house brings some very present percussion, while still maintaining that elegance which is felt through out the album.

'Flavour' is a downtempo track which brings some very warm keys with some funky bass playing as well as some very complimentary stabbing synth lines. Although the synth lines definitely don't feel stabbing, its subtleness provides beautiful color to the song as the trio speaks on what we love most, music. 'Music hits you, but you feel no pain'.

Another beautiful downtempo song is 'Latin Lover'. Don't be thrown off by the Sigur Ros type intro, the trio gets right in to their business of making grooves with this organ graced tune. 'Latin Lover's' beautifully clean instrumentation is perfect for some afternoon or late night lounging. This one is for those who love to relax with a drink in our hands and a smile on our face.

'Song For Mi Padre' was one of the most talked about songs from the Yoruba Winter Music Conference Sampler, and here it is in its entirety. The luscious instrumentation here is so warm and wonderful we can't help but feel good every time we hear it. Its jazzed out piano lines, and hypnotic violins make this one of the highlights of 'Love Moves'.

For those who already had a copy a of Nomumbah's cover of 'Tudo que Voce Podia Ser', they bring a little different flavor for the album's version. We're talking about an amazing reprise version of their rework clocking in at over eight and a half minutes! Do you really want us to tell you more? We didn't think so.

Brazil's tradition in music is one of beauty and progression. There is certain eloquence to their creativity. This can be said for not only in their music but just ask football fans all across the world. Nomumbah's 'Love Moves' is a perfect testament to this.
